A New Youth Center

Diamond Willow Ministries, a grassroots organization founded and located in Fort Thompson, has made progress on the construction of the Tokata Youth Center. The 7,500- square foot facility is located north of the Family Dollar in Fort Thompson and is on schedule to open in the summer of 2022. A group of like-minded individuals and organizations are currently helping lay the Tokata Youth Center foundation, both literally and figuratively. Figuratively, in that the Tokata Youth Center Capital Campaign is also now engaged to raise the needed construction funds. “For those who wish to learn more about getting involved in creating a safe, wholesome environment where youth are free to learn, grow and dream - an opportunity to create the best version of themselves, visit https://capitalcampaign.tokatayouthenter.org, states Rod Vaughn of Diamond Willow Ministries. "Lots of funding yet to be raised but folks with a common vision are coming together to get it done! Very exciting." Tokata Youth Center Program Coordinator Terrance " Duck" Fox, top photo, back, is shown with two youth who enjoy the current youth center programming; "Everyone is excited to see the building completed so programming can be expanded,” said Vaughn. The bottom photo shows a chart set up by the community youth, who are working toward their goal of giving $100 towards construction of the new youth center by the end of the year.
